| 5. | Do I need to make an appointment? While it is not required to make an appointment, it is strongly recommended, especially on evenings and weekends as we frequently fill up fast. We appreciate that you may not know your exact schedule and we can be flexible with times, but in order to insure you a reserved room and the best possible service, we prefer appointments. APPOINTMENTS ARE ALWAYS REQUIRED FOR FITTINGS as we do not always have a seamstress on-site.
| 6. | What should I bring with me when I come to look for dresses? You are not required to bring anything with you when looking for dresses. Many times, brides bring pictures of dresses they like. This is helpful for our consultants to know what styles you like most, but we also recommend that you try on a variety of styles. Dresses look very different on.
| 7. | How many people can I bring with me? You are welcome to bring as many people with you as you like. Please tell us at the time of making your appointment if you will have a large group with you, so we can reserve the largest fitting room. This should be a special day for you and your friends and family. Please remember that it can be a stressful situation, if you have too many opinions however.
| 8. | Are there any additional charges? We do not charge any extra charges for storage, pressing, etc. We do charge a minimal fee to ship a dress from our store to the customer if requested. Alterations are additional. Call 630-443-9226 for a complete listing of our estimated alteration fees.
| 9. | What is required to special order a dress or dresses? All special order items are final sale and may not be exchanged, returned, or refunded for any reason whatsoever. We require 50% of the price of an item to special order it. The balance is due within 60 days of the item arriving and must be paid in full before alterations are performed.
| 10. | How far in advance should I order my dress? Most manufacturers normal delivery time is 16-18 weeks, so it is recommended that you order approximately 6 months in advance. Many manufacturers will offer a rush charge for a minimal fee, which enables us to get dresses in less time. Our recommendation is that if you find the dress of your dreams, order it immediately. All manufacturers periodically discontinue dresses and we wouldn’t want you to miss out on your dream gown. We charge no additional fees to store the dress until your special day.
| 11. | How do I know what size to order? Each manufacturer has a unique size chart specific to their dresses. We MUST follow their charts! The largest measurement on the chart is our guide. We can always take in, but can rarely let out a dress. Please remember that every manufacturers sizes are different. If someone chooses to order a different size, other than the recommended size, we will require a signature waiving us of any responsibility for the fit of the dress.
| 12. | What if I have members of the bridal party from out of town? This is no problem. We frequently do complete and partial wedding parties from out of town. It is very important that complete wedding parties are ordered together. Dye lots can vary a great deal, so it is important that the complete party is ordered together. We can ship dresses out via UPS to any of your out of town maids. The charge is usually between $10.00 & $15.00 per dress.
| 13. | Can each of my girls order their dresses on their own? It is strongly discouraged to have everyone order from whomever they would like, because the dye lots can vary drastically. It is important that the entire party is ordered together. We do not order wedding parties until we have each members measurements and their deposit for this very reason. Each member of your party can visit our website to email us their measurements and deposits, or they can phone us at 630-443-9226 with measurements and deposits.
| 14. | I am pregnant or I have members of my party who are pregnant, what do I do? We deal with pregnant women all the time. We will discuss the details with you to assist in ordering the correct size. Frequently we order a couple of sizes larger and order an extra yard of fabric to expand the dress if necessary.
| 15. | Why are your prices higher than on the internet? We are a complete full-service salon with a lot of overhead. We offer top of the line service and put a great deal of effort into making your occasion even more special. Remember that we are trained professionals who can offer expert advice on sizing, colors, fabrics, styles, etc. We will be with you thru every step of the process.
We can not compete with online retailers who often sell counterfeit dresses. Manufacturers will only sell directly to full-service bridal salons. It is illegal and unethical for us to sell our dresses on the internet before the manufacturer discontinues the dress. We have heard of many stories of fly by night businesses and knock-offs, cheap quality, etc. Please remember that you get what you pay for. We try to give you the best we can offer for the best value. Why take the chance?
| 16. | Do you offer discounts to larger parties? We sell all items at the manufacturers suggested retail price. This is a fair price that should be offered by all vendors of a manufacturer. We realize there are stores out there who will offer “a so called discount” for larger parties. If you run across one, we are happy to price match apples for apples. You will often find that the so called “discount” is not really a discount because of the hidden fees for shipping, storage, and extensive alterations. We will work with you on helping you get the best service and product for the least amount of money. Remember that you get what you pay for.
| 17. | Are alterations included? We regret that alterations are not included. However, you will find our prices extremely reasonable for the market place. We do not charge a minimum and you only pay for what needs to be done. We are known for having the most reasonable alterations in the area!
| 18. | How much are alterations? Prices on alterations vary depending on type of dress and what work needs to be done. We only charge for what is performed on your dress. We do not charge a minimum. For complete pricing information please stop in our store or give us a call to discuss your specific dress!
| 19. | What do I need for my first fitting? Please make sure you have all undergarments and shoes for your first fitting. Different bras and undergarments can drastically change the fit of a dress. We offer a complete collection of shoes, and undergarments, but we can not guarantee we will have the correct size and style in stock for your fittings. We will not be responsible if you change your undergarments and shoes between fittings.
| 20. | How many fittings are usually required? The typical bride needs two or three fittings. The typical bridesmaid and/or special occasion dress needs one or two fittings. This is what we usually experience. However, there are certain things that could cause you to need more fittings. If we are doing any custom work it may require more visits. If you continue to change weight up or down it will require more fittings. We try to minimize the number of times you need to come in as much as possible, although we enjoy seeing and visiting with all of our brides and their friends and family!
| 21. | How long do alterations take? Alterations usually average about two weeks in between each fitting therefore, we like to allow 8 to 10 weeks total for alterations on a bridal gown or special occasion dress. Often times that is not possible, because of being out of town, changing weight, illness, etc. We do alterations for out of town maids the week of the wedding if necessary. If this is something that you will need, we ask that you tell us ahead of time so we can be prepared with appropriate staffing. We do all of our alterations first by wear date and second by the date you are in for your fittings. We do this to keep our perfect record of NEVER missing a wear date. If your date is several weeks away, please trust us, sit back and relax. WE GUARANTEE YOUR ALTERATIONS WILL BE DONE PROPERLY FOR YOUR BIG DAY!!!
